Edge Case Research is expanding our DevOps and Site Reliability Team. We are currently looking for a site reliability engineer that will work collaboratively with software developers, quality engineers, and solutions engineers to deliver tools and infrastructure to support our applications. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve the CI pipeline
  • Deploy new tooling and technologies to improve provisioning and deployment workflows
  • Analyze and improve the security of our systems
  • Assist software development with selecting tools and technologies in accordance with industry best practices
  • Write scripts, programs, and/or plugins to further improve and automate our processes
  • Create dashboards and reports to communicate the overall state of our systems
  • Develop monitors and alerts to ensure product SLAs and uptime requirements are met
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to triage and respond to incidents in our production environments

Requirements:

  • For US Applications: Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
  • 3+ years of Kubernetes experience including provisioning clusters, deploying applications to clusters, and debugging and maintenance
  • 3+ years of cloud or infrastructure engineering experience with VMWare, AWS, Azure, or GCE
  • 3+ years experience setting up automation and monitoring in cloud environments
  • 3+ years of CI/CD experience with tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, TravisCI, or Atlassian Bamboo
  • Experience in Linux Systems Administration
  • Experience with SQL Databases like PostgreSQL, mySQL, CockroachDB, MariaDB, and AWS Aurora
  • Experience with noSQL Databases like MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Apache Ignite, AWS DynamoDB, Riak, Redis, Consul, and Vault
  • Experience with one or more Queue Solutions such as RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, NATS, and Apache Kafka
  • Experience writing programs/scripts in Go, Python, Bash, or Perl

Nice To Haves:

  • Dashboard, monitoring, and logging experience such as Elastic ELK Stack, Datadog, Splunk, and Sumologic
  • General understanding of security best practices
  • Exposure to Kubernetes tooling like Rancher, Helm, FluxCD, ArgoCD, Kustomize, Kops, and Telepresence
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code solutions like Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, Puppet, Chef, Vagrant, and Packer
  • Experience with different Kubernetes distributions like microK8s, minikube, K3d, K3s, Rancher Kubernetes Engine, and Openshift
  • Masters in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
