The Role

As a Staff Frontend Engineer at SetSail, you’ll help solve unique, large scale and highly complex technical problems which translate into scalable user experiences that are deployed across our platforms. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to lead front-end design and platform related decisions and mentor other team members on best practices. We’re a fast-growing and dynamic, SaaS driven company where results drive our team members to continuously improve our technology. Responsibilities

Lead design and architecture for new product features and the SetSail frontend platform using React.js Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use Transforming designs and wireframes into quality code Provide mentorship for other engineers about front end development best practices. Evaluating front-end technologies for future use within our products Optimizing components for the highest performance across browsers, mobile devices, etc. Code reviewing and advising other developers to ensure best practices are being followed

Qualifications

10+ years of experience writing client facing JavaScript, working with SaaS applications 4+ years experience with React, expertise in building complex layouts with CSS and HTML Ability to lead technical architecture discussions while improving technical decisions within the team You have experience building and debugging complex systems in a multi-team environment Knowledge with modern browser technologies and knowledge of a templating system You have strong UX and design sensibilities, and a desire to engineer the small stuff Excellent communication, explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is something you do daily Prefer a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience
