Description

ForeFlight is looking for a DevOps engineer to join our Mobile team. This position is for a technical individual with experience in the day-to-day operations of a mobile software development team.

You’ll work with the Mobile development team to improve automation and reliability, helping us increase velocity and improve quality. You will also work with other DevOps engineers to maintain and upgrade shared systems. Additional responsibilities include assisting in advancing our automation tools, monitoring, management, scalability, security, and fault tolerance. This person is naturally curious, exploring new technologies in order to stay current, and always striving to learn more.

Technically, this person should be comfortable with Unix-based systems, such as Linux or Mac OS X, experienced with DevOps practices such as Continuous Integration and Deployment, and experienced with Mobile application stacks. This person also understands and strives toward the core DevOps values of CAMS: Culture, Automation, Measurement, and Sharing.

Professionally, this person is driven to execute, deliver, and complete projects independently, seeking advice and direction from team members when needed, and plowing ahead to completion when the path forward is clear.

This position is based in our Austin, TX office. A pilot-coder, or individual looking to pursue their private pilot license, is a plus. Benefits include medical insurance, 401K with matching, and flight training reimbursement.

  • 3+ Years experience as a DevOps Engineer or System Admin.
  • Comfortable on the *nix command line and with common shell scripting tasks. - Experience with Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with server configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with at least one Continuous Integration tool (TeamCity, Jenkins, etc).
  • Plus: Software development experience(Java, iOS)
