JazzHR

Pittsburgh, PA

FTE only

Description

JazzHR’s software engineering team is focused on building cutting-edge products that solve business problems. Every day we tackle big technical challenges, love learning and growing our skills, and focus not just on improving, but innovating on the way things are done across our team, technology, and product.

Our tech stack includes TypeScript, JavaScript, AngularJS, Jasmine, and Gulp on the front-end, PHP and Symfony on the server-side, a data layer consisting of MySQL, Elasticsearch, Apache Solr, MongoDB, and Redis, a messaging layer consisting of RabbitMQ and Apache Kafka, and a systems infrastructure that utilizes Amazon Web Services and Docker. Most of our engineers work across multiple areas of our tech stack.

While experience in some of these areas is a plus, we’re most interested in finding people with exceptional foundational knowledge in software development who possess high ambition and aptitude and are excited to work directly on products and features that are relied on by thousands of companies.

What you’ll bring:

*Passion for continuous learning and entrepreneurship that you channel into your work. *Specific skills are great, but enthusiasm for the web, excitement for tackling big technical challenges, and a drive to satisfy customer needs will get you further than any individual technology. *The know-how to build intuitive UI components with modern web technologies such as TypeScript / JavaScript (Angular, React, etc.), HTML5, and CSS / Sass that will be used by thousands of our customers *A desire to architect and build robust, performant APIs using object-oriented languages and frameworks such as PHP (Symfony), Python (Django), and Java (Spring) *A passion for writing well-tested code covered by automated test runners such as Cypress, Karma, PHPUnit, enabling us to frequently iterate and release value to our customers *A drive to design scalable and generic data models that will hold up under high demand via storage engines such as MySQL, Elasticsearch, Apache Solr, and MongoDB *Enthusiasm for the “developer experience” of your colleagues by leveraging Gulp, Webpack, Babel, Jenkins, and other automated build tools *A minimum of 2-5 years of software development experience

This position is based in our Pittsburgh, PA office.  Currently, our team is working remotely due to COVID-19 but we anticipate reopening our offices in the future, once it’s safe for our team.  We expect that all candidates are able to work onsite once our in-office operations resume.
